What does a wheelchair-accessible porta potty include?

How many accessible porta potties does my event need?
The 2010 ADA Standards, section 213.2, call for at least 5% of portable toilets in each cluster to be accessible, and never fewer than one. A cluster of 10 units needs 1 accessible unit; a cluster of 21 needs 2. Your venue or permit office has the final word.

Where should an accessible unit be placed?
Place an accessible unit on firm, level ground with a clear path from parking or seating. Grass, gravel and slopes make wheelchairs hard to push. A paved spot or a plywood path works best, and the door needs room to swing fully open.

Every answer here comes from questions renters ask before they book. Still unsure? Ask a dispatcher.
Call now(909) 939-1771Is your wheelchair-accessible unit ADA-compliant?
Our accessible units are built for wheelchair use with a ground-level floor, grab bars and turning space. Whether a setup meets ADA rules also depends on placement and the route to it, so we describe them as wheelchair-accessible and help you place them correctly.
How much does an accessible porta potty cost?
A wheelchair-accessible unit starts at about $215 for an event of up to 7 days, or about $245 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. Delivery and pickup start at $75 near Chino.
Why is the accessible unit cheaper than a deluxe unit?
The accessible unit has no flush or sink, so it costs less to run than a deluxe unit even though it is larger.
Can older guests use an accessible unit?
Older guests and people using walkers often prefer it because there is no step and there are grab bars to hold. Many family events book one for that reason.
Do construction sites need an accessible porta potty?
Cal/OSHA does not set an accessible count for construction crews, but a worker with a disability may need one. Ask us and we will add one to the site.
