How many porta potties does a construction site need in California?

A California construction site needs at least 1 toilet for every 20 workers, or fraction of 20, under Cal/OSHA Title 8 §1526. A crew of 25 needs 2 toilets. Urinals can count toward the total, but toilets must make up at least half.

Construction toilet counts by crew size
Workers on siteMinimum toilets (Cal/OSHA §1526)Our recommendation
1–2011 toilet + 1 handwashing station
21–4022 toilets + 1 station
41–6033 toilets + 1 station
61–8044 toilets + 2 stations
81–10055 toilets + 2 stations
101–2006–101 toilet per 20, + 1 station per 4 toilets

Official text: Cal/OSHA §1526 and federal 29 CFR 1926.51. The legal minimum is the first column; the third column is our recommendation for crews that work full days. Confirm with your safety officer.

How often are jobsite porta potties serviced?

Jobsite porta potties are serviced once a week on a fixed day, included in the 28-day rental. Each visit pumps the tank, scrubs surfaces, adds deodorizer and restocks paper and sanitizer. When one unit serves more than 10 workers in summer heat, add a second weekly service.

Heat changes everything on Inland Empire jobs; read summer servicing tips.

Jobsite needs a toilet today? Call now.

Call by noon for same-day delivery.

Where should a porta potty go on a jobsite?

Place jobsite porta potties on level ground within about 50 feet of a spot the service truck can reach, away from trenches, material drops and crane swing areas. On windy Inland Empire lots, set them against a wall or ask us to stake them.

Can you move units as the job moves?

We move units between phases or lots on the same site for a small relocation charge. Tract builders in Ontario Ranch and Eastvale often move units every few weeks as streets are finished. Call the day before you need the move.

How much does a construction porta potty cost per month?

A standard construction porta potty starts at about $185 per 28-day cycle with one weekly service. Delivery and pickup start at $75 near Chino and are charged once. A second weekly service starts at about $65 per visit. Sales tax is added.

Is billing monthly or every 28 days?

Construction rentals bill every 28 days, not by calendar month. Billing renews until you call for pickup. Ending mid-cycle adds no fee, but the cycle is not prorated.

Can you deliver today if my regular supplier did not show?

Call by noon and we deliver the same day across the Chino Valley and nearby cities. Inspectors and crews will not wait, so we treat these calls first.

Can I padlock the jobsite unit after hours?

Construction units can take your padlock on the exterior hasp. Leave it unlocked or give us the code on service day.

Do you offer one invoice for several jobsites?

One account can cover many jobsites with one invoice. Each site keeps its own service day.

What if a unit is vandalized or tipped over?

Call us and we clean up and replace it. Damage from vandalism, fire or tipping by others on site is billed to the renter, as listed in the rental terms.
